Celebrate Victorian Food and Wine

Diners enjoying a meal in Melbourne The best food and wine in the best locations

When you're in Melbourne at Games time you'll find a vibrant, delicious and varied cuisine with over 3000 restaurants showcasing a Commonwealth – and more – of cuisines.

CBD
Head to the heart of Melbourne and choose from Italian, Malaysian, Chinese, Greek, Indian, modern Australian and more. Visit Melbourne’s Chinatown in Little Bourke Street for some dumplings, Lonsdale Street for a Greek souvlaki or baklava, Federation Square for a variety of cuisines, and in the laneways and arcades you’ll find cafes, bars and casual dining.

St Kilda
Melbourne’s bayside suburb is home to cool bars, cafés, restaurants and pubs that range from budget to upmarket. Walk along Acland Street for coffee and cake or head to the waterfront for dinner with a bay view.
Catch the 109 tram from Collins Street or Tram 96 from Bourke Street.

Brunswick Street, Fitzroy
Melbourne’s bohemian quarter is the epitome of cool. Great cafés and bars, often with live music, as well as lots of restaurants make this area a great place for a night out.
Catch Tram 112 from Collins Street.

Lygon Street, Carlton
Lygon Street, Melbourne's Italian quarter, is where you go to enjoy pasta and great coffee at institutions like Tiamo 1 and Tiamo 2. For something sweeter visit Brunetti’s, an Italian cake shop that offers delicious pastries.
Catch Tram 8 from Swanston Street.

Victoria Street, Richmond
Known as 'Little Saigon', Victoria Street is home to Vietnamese restaurants and grocers and a great option for the budget conscious. Drop in for a bowl of noodle soup or some fresh spring rolls.
Catch Tram 109 from Collins Street.
