Remember to plan, be patient and allow plenty of time to reach your destination. Where possible, avoid travelling during the morning (7am – 9.30am) and evening (4pm – 7pm) peaks.

Free travel with Games tickets
On the day of the event you are attending, you can travel free on Melbourne's trains, trams and buses that accept Metcard. You must have your Games ticket with you when you travel and you need to hang on to your Games ticket for the journey home.
V/Line special offer
Games ticket holders are also entitled to a special offer on regional rail and coach services. Spectators can travel on V/Line services for no more than $10 return anywhere in Victoria on the day before, the day of, and the day after a Games event upon presentation of a valid Games ticket.
