Australia's Alex Karapetyan
still has the strength to celebrate
his win in the 94kg class.
The Men’s 94kg Weightlifting has been won by Australia's Alex Karapetyan, with team mate Simon Heffernan claiming the silver and Scotland’s Thomas Yule winning bronze.
Karapetyan was defending the title he won in Manchester in 2002 and had a strong finish, lifting 350kg, significantly more than Heffernan's 332kg and Yule’s 326kg.
He holds the current Commonwealth Games record of 364kg.
It was Australia's second gold medal of the Games Weightlifting competition, after Ben Turner won the 69kg event on Saturday night.
