medallists celebrate together.

Sri Lanka’s Chinthana Vidanage won the gold medal in the Men’s 62kg Weightlifting event earlier today.

His lift of 118kg in the Snatch and 153kg in the Clean & Jerk gave him an overall total of 271kg.

Arun Murugesan of India also lifted 271kg (121+150) but missed out on the gold medal on account of his higher body weight. Murugesan weighed 61.87 kg to Vidanage's 61.79 kg.

Malayasia's Abdul Rashid Roswadi won the bronze with an overall lift of 261kg (120+141).
