Weightlifter Baharom celebrates
his gold with Malaysian teammate

Baharom Mohd Faizal Bin of Malaysia put himself straight into the lead after the snatch component of the Men’s 56kg Weightlifting class with a massive lift of 115kg.

Baharom secured the gold medal with a lift of 140kg in the Clean & Jerk to take his medal winning total score to 255.

With the field evenly placed, the silver medal went to Vicky Bhatta of India with a total score of 245 and the bronze to Guntali Matin Bin from Malaysia with a total score of 238.

Baharom Mohd Faizal Bin won bronze in the 56kg class Snatch at Manchester. His compatriot Guntali Matin Bin missed the Manchester Games, but previously won bronze in Kuala Lumpur in 1998 and silver at Victoria in 1994.

At 39 years of age, Guntali is at least 15 years older than his fellow medallists.
