Xue Ling Zhang, now with her
focus on the gold.
Two Singaporeans will battle it out in the Table Tennis Women's Singles Final, after Australia's last gold medal hope, Miao Miao, was crushed in her Semi Final match against Xue Ling Zhang.
Zhang dominated the first three games, 11-6, 11-8, 11-6, with Miao struggling against the Singaporean's fast attacking style of play. Miao broke through in the fourth game, winning 9-11, but Australia's hopes for a gold medal faded when Zhang sealed the fifth, 12-10.
Miao said "She plays a different game to what I'm used to. She plays short like me, but my teammates don't, so it's a little harder.
"Sometimes it's hard to concentrate for every ball. When we play against the weaker teams we can afford to not always concentrate. I'm confident about winning the bronze medal tomorrow."
Zhang takes on team-mate and top seed, Jia Wei LI, while Miao will go head-to-head with Yan Xu of Singapore for the bronze.
After the match Xue Ling Zhang said "I could've won in four games, because I was up 5-0 in the fourth game. But she came back well."
Commenting on playing her teammate Jia Wei Li, Zhang said "I have played her in the past, but she usually beats me."
