Australia's Stewart Boswell in
action.
Australian pair Stewart Boswell and Anthony Ricketts have beaten New Zealanders Campbell Grayson and Martin Knight to line-up a final against England in the men's Doubles Squash competition.
The first semi final was eventually won 3-0, but each game was closely contested with scores of 9-6, 11-9 and 11-9. The final game took over 40 minutes and was filled with remarkable rallies, as the crowd roared their encouragement.
After the match, Grayson of New Zealand said "(We're a) bit disappointed really, but we still played well. They were both really tough."
"There were a good couple of sets, but they played the important points better," added teammate Knight. "We'll definitely be trying for bronze. We came here to do our best, and we'll be having a look at the other games, so we can know a bit about our next opponents."
Boswell and Ricketts will meet England in the gold medal final, after English second seeds Lee Beachill and Peter Nicol made it through a tough semi final, defeating Australians Dan Jenson and David Palmer.
Jenson and Palmer got off to a flying start and after a string of winners they took the first game 9-5.
Beachill and Nicol then found their rhythm and halted Australia's dominance. The next two games went for 1 hour 11 minutes with the Englishmen winning 9-4, 9-6.
With a sniff of victory the English could not be stopped, winning a string points at the end of the match to close it out, 5-9, 9-4, 9-6, 9-4.
