George Achilleos of Cyprus has set a new Games Record, winning the gold medal in the Men's Skeet Final with a score of 148 targets out of 150. Australia's Clive Barton won silver with 147 and Clayton Miller of Canada took the bronze with 143.
"I knew I had to do well today and I had a perfect day,” said Achillleos. “Yesterday I did miss a target but I don't want to remember that.
"I have just heard that it is a new Commonwealth Games Record and I am very pleased.”
Both Barton and Achilleos broke the previous Games record of 146 targets out of 150 which was held by Miller.
Clayton Miller noted the importance of the right mental attitude, "I struggled a lot earlier in the day. It is all in your mind and sometimes your mind fails you."
Antonis Nikolaides of Cyprus finished a close fourth with 142, Australia's George Barton finished fifth and sixth place went to Michael Maskell of Barbados.
