India’s Vijay Kumar has backed up his gold medal performance in the Men's 25m Rapid Fire Pistol Pairs by winning gold in the Individual event.
Kumar and his team-mate, Pemba Tamang, led the remainder of the field convincingly at the end of the qualifying round, setting up an all-Indian showdown in the final.
Tamang pushed his compatriot to the final series, but Kumar proved he was up to the challenge coming out on top by just 3.2 points.
Amir Bin Izwan Hasli, of Malaysia put up a good showing for the bronze placing, finishing a massive 21.1 points ahead of his nearest rival.
India will be aiming for an even greater dominance of the Shooting competition in four years time, as hosts of the 2010 Commonwealth Games in New Delhi.
