Lauryn Mark, on target for gold.
Australia’s Lauryn Mark and Natalia Rahman have won gold in the Women’s Skeet Pairs ahead of the pairs from Cyprus and England.
With a score of 90, the Australian pair were favoured to win, but only narrowly edged out the competitive Cypriots, Andri Eleftheriou and Louiza Theophanous, who scored 88 to take silver.
The English pair of Pinky Le Grelle and Elena Little scored 86 to take the bronze medal.
The New Zealand team of Commonwealth Games newcomers, Erin Discombe and Melanie Hoverd, acquitted themselves well and narrowly missed out on a medal with their score of 84.
Day Five action at the Gun Club also features the qualifying and Final rounds in the Men’s Clay Shooting Skeet Pairs with Cypriots Antonis Nikolaides and George Achilleos favourites to win the Men’s event, after solid performances in the World Cup Finals in 2005.
Brothers George and Clive Barton are strong medal hopes for Australia, while England's Clive Bramley and Richard Brickell will be out to better Brickell’s bronze medal performance at Manchester - the English team lost the silver to Australia on a count-back.
Scotland also has a strong pairing with Auckland 1990 gold medallist Ian Marsden and Manchester silver medallist Mike Thomson competing.
