Stretching in and around Melbourne’s famed Royal Botanic Gardens, along the edge of the Yarra River and through the steep surrounds of Punt Road Hill, the Cycling Road Race course will be a formidable test of endurance and skill against a backdrop of some of the most outstanding features the city has to offer.

The start and finish line is on Birdwood Avenue. Athletes travel north to Linlithgow and Alexandra Avenues to City Road before turning back towards Boathouse Drive, Alexandra Avenue, Darling Street, right into Domain Road, left at Caroline Sreet, to Dobson Street, then Punt Road, before heading back the same way to the incline at Shipley Street, Punt Road, again to Alexandra Avenue, over Walsh Street, through Clowes and Anderson Streets, then right on Domain Road, completing the lap in Birdwood Avenue.
