Australia and New Zealand will feature in a highly anticipated rematch.

It all went to the seeding script in the semi finals of the Netball as Australia and New Zealand progressed to the gold medal match and set-up a replay of the Manchester 2002 final.

World champions New Zealand cruised past Jamaica 61-41 in the first semi final, while Australia overcame erratic patches and fierce opposition from England to win 52-40 in the second semi.

New Zealand skipper Adine Wilson was ecstatic after the game.

"We wanted to focus on the basics, we did that," she said. "Jamaica was awesome and we didn't want to give them an inch. It's nice that we can think about tomorrow now and start preparing."

Jamaica made some basic handling errors and was unable to break through. Goal attack Simone Forbes was forced to work overtime as her team struggled to move the ball forward through New Zealand's defence.

Australia were sluggish through the middle in their battle with England, with vice-captain Catherine Cox out of sorts, though the home side's defence kept it on top for much of the game.

England mounted a resurgence in the third quarter that saw it close within four goals before McMahon and substitute goal shooter Susan Pratley restored order and eventually helped Australia record a comfortable win.

"Yes, it's exciting. We were just saying at the end 'one more step to go'," said Australian captain Sharelle McMahon. "England did a great job. It was a hard fought game.

"I'm proud of the Aussie team tonight."

The New Zealand team, the Silver Ferns, has been the favourite for the gold medal having won every match at the Games. Australia and Jamaica tied in a preliminary round giving them four wins each.

The medal matches to decide the three medal places will be played on the final day of the Games with the bronze medal match at 2pm and the gold medal match to decide silver and gold at 4pm.
