The Lawn Bowls program was the focus of tense concentration on day six of the Games.
Australia and Scotland will contest the final of the Women's Pairs after the Australians accounted for New Zealand and Scotland Pair Joyce Lindores and Kay Moran beat Jersey in straight sets.
The Australian pair of Lynsey Armitage and Karen Murphy was pushed hard by New Zealanders Jan and Marina Khan in a Semi Final tie-breaker but prevailed to take the match 9-6, 2-11, 2-0.
Armitage and Murphy will prove tough to beat after running into excellent form following their 10-4, 10-3 destruction of Jersey.
The Scottish Men's Pairs had a tough battle against Malta before securing their place in the Final.
Having watched their compatriots qualify for the Women's Final earlier in the day, they steadied when Malta forced them into a shock tie-breaker.
All had seemed regulation for the Scots when they led 7-4 in the second with two ends to play. But the Maltese pair of Len Callus and Frank Vella played superb bowls to score the necessary four shots to force a tie-breaker.
With the last bowl of the tie-breaker's first end, the Scots had another fright when Malta clipped the jack only to see it rest next to another Scottish bowl.
It was key to the success of Paul Foster and Alec Marshall, with a perfect record of having played seven and won seven and a final to come against England.
