Gold medal winner, Siti Zalina
Ahmad.
Siti Zalina Ahmad of Malaysia has claimed gold in the Women’s Singles Lawn Bowls competition, defeating Wales’ Elizabeth Morgan in the final.
Ahmed won in comprehensive fashion at the State Lawn Bowls Centre, in two sets, 10-5, 9-5.
The Manchester single gold medallist felt that she was under more pressure to win in Melbourne.
"This win feels better than my win in Manchester. This time I think there was more pressure on me, but I knew that I could get into the Final and win," said Ahmed after her win.
"I feel better playing in the Games this time than I did four years ago. There was more pressure, but there was gold - that's good."
South Africa’s Lorna Trigwell defeated Northern Ireland’s Margaret Johnston in straight sets earlier in the day to claim the bronze medal.
