The Women's Singles Quarter Finals proved to be full of tough competition with three out of the four matches being decided in tie-breaks.
The four competitors ousted were also the four players who had qualified top of their respective groups.
It leaves Margaret Johnston of Northern Ireland to take on Malaysia's Siti Zalina Ahmad, and Elizabeth Morgan of Wales to play South African Lorna Trigwell for a Finals spot.
Johnston took on home-town favourite Maria Rigby, beating her in a 2-1 tie-breaker. After her win said she was very happy to be down to the last four.
"The better the game is, the better you go," Johnston said. "I hope to be flying the Northern Ireland flag tomorrow."
Despite the encouragement of her teammates, Elizabeth James of Swaziland lost her match to Trigwell 1-2 in a tie-break.
"I worked hard to get where I am and I feel fantastic about it," Trigwell said.
The previously undefeated Fijian Litia Tikoisuva started well against Morgan to tie the first set 7-7. However Morgan proved to be too good in the end, taking the match 11-2.
"I just managed to hang in," admitted Morgan. "I know in this game, it's a scary game and you have to play well on the day."
In the other Quarter Final, Alison Merrien of Guernsey started well in the first set, outplaying Ahmad to win 10-6. The Malaysian answered by bowling brilliantly, to win the second set 12-6 and then impressively outlasting her opponent in the tie-break 2-0.
"She's a good player. I expected this game to be tough, but the important thing was that I try my best," Ahmad explained.
