Australia has won its third consecutive Commonwealth Games gold medal beating Pakistan 3-0 in the Men's Hockey Final.
An excited Bevan George, captain of the Australian side, said, "We worked really hard to get this win. They're a fast team."
Robert Hammond of Australia, who received a knock to the face during the match, said "My lip will hurt, but the gold medal is there forever."
Australia was the standout side all tournament, winning its Pool games in convincing style, and demolishing Malaysia 6-0 in the Semi Final. It conceded just five goals on its way to the gold medal match.
Malaysia won bronze in the Men's Hockey competition, defeating England 2-0.
Malaysia scored one goal in each of the halves to claim the third place prize over a spirited England side. The Kuala Lumpur silver medallists, were led by goal-scorers Ahmad Tengku Muhamad Amin Rahim.
