The Rhythmic Gymnastics program will feature women performing in both team and individual competition across four apparatus, judge on their skill in leaps, balances, pivots, flexibility, apparatus handling and artistic effect.
Six Rhythmic Gymnastics gold medals will be on offer on the purpose built, International Gymnastics Federation (FIG) approved competition arena within Rod Laver Arena (Melbourne Park), during the final three days of Games competition.
Gymnasts will compete in a team event which counts as both a medal event and the qualification round for the Individual All-Around and Individual Apparatus events. The apparatus used will be the Rope, Ball, Clubs and Ribbon.
