The Artistic Gymnastics program will feature men and women performing feats of fitness, skill, concentration, flexibility and artistic flair.
Fourteen Artistic Gymnastics gold medals will be on offer on the purpose built, International Gymnastics Federation (FIG) approved competition arena within Rod Laver Arena (Melbourne Park), with the team event taking place across three days of competition, before a day’s break and then two days of individual apparatus finals.
Athletes will compete in a team event which counts as both a medal event and the qualification round for the Individual All-Around and Individual Apparatus events. Women will challenge on the Vault, Uneven Bars, Balance Beam and Floor, while men contest the Vault, Parallel Bars, Horizontal Bar, Floor, Still Rings and Pommel Horse.
