Australia's Ryan Bayley edged out Ross Edgar from Scotland in the Men's Sprint Final to claim his second gold medal of the Games at the Multi Purpose Venue.
The match-up between arguably two of the best riders in the world lived up to the hype with a close first heat before Bayley secured the gold medal with a runaway win in the second heat in a time of 10.639 seconds.
Travis Smith from Canada claimed the bronze medal.
In the Women’s Sprint Final England’s Victoria Pendleton, the current Olympic champion, won gold narrowly defeated the current World champion, Australia’s Anna Meares.
"I'm really, really happy, this was my main event,” said Pendleton. “The sprint is a gamble, always very close, so I feel great about the win.”
Meares said "I gave absolutely all I had. I really wanted to come home with the gold, but white gold will have to do."
"She's (Pendleton) a sensational athlete, I really want to beat her next time: that was a fantastic race for Vicky."
Kerrie Meares won the bronze.
In the Men's Team Pursuit, England claimed gold edging out Australia. England raced with three of their four World Champions in the team and won in a time of 4:02.699.
Third place was taken by New Zealand with a win over Malaysia.
The English squad included Stephen Cummings, Rob Hayles, Paul Manning and Chris Newton.
After winning the gold medal Hayle said, “This is what we came here for and we got it. It was really great. After the World's [championships] we were gobsmacked. This tops it off."
