Australia's Luke Jackson fought
for bronze in the 57kg
Featherweight division.
England's Stephen Smith is through to the gold medal bout in the Featherweight 57kg division after defeating Darren Edwards of Wales, 29-15.
The Englishman will now fight for the gold medal against Pakistan's Lassi Mehruallah who beat Australian Luke Christopher Jackson, winning 20-13.
Both Jackson and Edwards will be awarded bronze medals under the Commonwealth Games system.
At the 2006 British Four Nations Tournament in Dublin, Ireland, Edwards was defeated by England’s Stephen Smith in a tight match 12-11.
"He fought me more than I fought him. I've got the bronze and I'm very proud of that," sadi Edwards. "Overall I'm very pleased."
The Australian ougilist was disappointed with the result, but thankful for the support he had received at the Games.
“The crowd is wonderful," said Jackson. "It’s a shame I couldn’t bring it over the line."
The match between Mehrullah and Smith is set to be exciting with both boxers in top from.
Boxing gold medals will be decided on 25 March.
