World number two Lee Chong Wei, is part of the Malaysian team vying for a win at Melbourne.
Birdies - also known as shuttlecocks - will be flying when the 18 nations contesting the Badminton take to the courts.
Four groups make up the competition – Group A includes four teams, Group B and Group C have five each, and Group D also has four teams.
Top seed Malaysia is in Group A and the second seed, England, is in Group D.
Australia and New Zealand are in Group B.
Each group plays in a round-robin event over three days, with the top two nations from each group qualifying for a quarter-final play off.
Cross-over matches will then occur between Groups A and B, and Groups C and D.
The first three days will offer three sessions of play - 9am, 2pm and 7pm.
All nations will be playing every day.
The opening match will see Malaysia take on Fiji on Court One. Singapore and South Africa will battle it out on Court Two while New Zealand will play Kenya on Court Three.
