Kenyan Ezekial Kemboi Yano
claims gold in the 3km
Steeplechase.
It was a Kenyan medal haul in the Men’s 3,000m Steeplechase, with Ezekiel Kemboi Yano taking first place ahead of compatriots Wesley Kiprotich Koech and Reuben Kosgri Seroney.
Kemboi Yano won the gold medal in a time of 8:18.17, improving on his silver in Manchester, and matching the gold medal finish at the Athens Olympics.
In his first Commonwealth Games appearance, Australia’s Martin Dent ran a personal best time to finish in fourth position with a time of 8:28.98.
"I did my best. I'm really pleased with 4th place," said Dent about his result.
