Nigeria claims Shot Put double

Nigeria has claimed gold and silver in the Final of the Women's Seated Shot Put Elite Athletes with a Disability competition (EAD). 

Favourite Njideka Iyiazi, 32, took out the title with a score of 678 points. Team-mate Virginia Ohagwu made it a double for Nigeria, finishing with a score of 608.

Australian Asti Poole's six attempts yielded two successful throws, enough to win her the bronze medal with 533 points. Poole made a strong recovery after her first three throws were disallowed.

All three medallists were competing at their first Commonwealth Games.
