Injuries Russo jammed her right ankle in a short vault landing during selection trials in Canberra in February and may not be able to compete in the All Around at the Commonwealth Games.
Other Monette won Australia's first medal in world-class all-around competition at the World Championships in Melbourne, Nov 2005. She also made the finals on beam, floor and uneven bars (the first time an AUS gymnast had made 3 individual finals). She is looking forward to the Commonwealth Games and meeting English gymnast Beth Tweddle again in competition. She enjoys going out with friends, crafts and shopping. She would like to be successful in a media career.

Monette's grandfather Bob Russo is her No 1 fan.

Monette collected the bronze medal on the vault at the DTB World Cup event in Stuttgart, Germany, Oct-2005. She also produced excellent form on a range of apparatus, making the finals on the uneven bars and beam.
