In 2002 - at only 16 years of age - Alice made the Australian swimming team and was affectionately given the tag of Pocket Rocket.

She regards her most significant achievement in sport as winning her two Olympic gold medals in Athens.

She was named the AIS Discovery of the Year, and, combined with success at several international events, Alice had a remarkable 2002.

She has said she most enjoys battling it out with teammate Jodie Henry in the pool.

She first started swimming when she was four years of age.
