Injuries Kerrie missed the Athens Olympics with a severe back injury. She was forced onto the sidelines by three bulging discs in her back.
Other Kerrie's interests include history, learning languages, health and fitness, piano and computers.

In 2002, she was named Australian Female Track Cyclist of the Year and Queensland Sportswoman of the Year.

Cycling is a family affair for Kerrie Meares. Her sister Anna is also in the Commonwealth Games team and did the family proud in Athens, winning a gold medal in the 500m Time Trial.
