Tamsyn is also known by the nickname 'Whatty'.

Manchester in 2002 made it the sixth time a Lewis has competed at a Commonwealth Games.

Tamsyn's parents, Caroline Wright and Greg Lewis, were also skilled athletes. Caroline won seven Australian High Jump titles (including the seventeen medals she won), competed at the 1962 Commonwealth Games and at the 1967 Pacific Conference Games.

Greg, on the other hand, won six National Sprint titles (eighteen medals), and competed at Olympics, Commonwealth games, Pan Conference games and World Uni Games between 1967 and 1974.

Between them, the Lewis family has an impressive collection of 18 individual national titles and 40 medals.

Tamsyn has a Bachelor of Behavioural Science, and has a long term desire to make her career in the media.
