Heath's most memorable sporting moment was watching Patrick Johnson run 19.32 in his second 200m at the Atlanta Olympics.

Heath has received a number of awards during his sporting career, including both the 1999 Port Steven's Junior Sports Star and Junior Paralympian, the 1998 Port Steven's Junior Paralympian, the 1999 and 2000 Junior Paralympian of the Year award, as well being made a Junior Citizen of Great Lakes Council and receiving a Centenary Medal and an Order of Australia Medal in 2000.
