Blythe was Canada's first ever World Champion in 2001 when she set a new World Record on 1m Springboard.

The former gymnast wanted to become a veterinarian when she grew up. At the age of 11 she traded in her leotards for Speedos and became addicted to the euphoria of flying through the air. Now she is a two-time World Champion and Olympic medallist.

In Montreal, at the 2005 World Championships, she reclaimed her world champion title on 1m by smashing her benchmark set in 2001.

She is currently completing her degree at the University of Southern California, where she is a rabid fan of the NCAA football team, the Trojans.
