| Other | Former South African captain Irene van Dyke chose to make New Zealand her home with her husband and daughter in 2000 and has become a Kiwi crowd favourite ever since.
She played an important role in the Silver Ferns' 3-0 victory over Australia in the July 2004 series and was a key member of the Waikato team that won the National Championships in the same year.
She is rated without a doubt as the best goal shooter in the world with her deadly accuracy in the shooting circle, excellent footwork and the ability to play at a blistering pace.
She was named Sportswoman of the Year at the 2003 Halberg Awards.
