Kyriakos jumped 2.27m on three occasions in the 2005. The most recent at the World Athletics Championships and before that in Erfurt, Germany in July, 2005 and in Athens, Greece in June, 2005.

He began high jump when he was twelve years old. He has always been interested in sport so training is fun for Kyriakos, rather than a chore.

He missed out on qualifying for the high jump finals at the Athens Olympics by three centimetres.

His coach Demetris Efthymiou is a former Cypriot triple jumper and is now a coach and professor at the University of Sport in Athens, Greece.
