In February this year Ignisious set a new African indoor Long Jump record of 8.36m during an IAAF event in Stockholm, Sweden. His performance also set a new Ghana national record for Long Jump.

Following his performance in the 2003 All Africa Games, where he set a new games record in the long jump, Ignisious earned a three-year sponsorship deal with sports company Adidas.

Ignisious moved to the Netherlands in 2001 and joined the PAC Rotterdam club.

Ignisious' goal away from the track is to be the director of his own company.
