Victoria's Premier Steve Bracks announced today that there would be a special parade of athletes and volunteers through the streets of Melbourne on Monday morning.

Steve Bracks said "I encourage all the people of Melbourne to come down and thank the athletes and volunteers for making these Games such a success."

The parade will begin at midday at the Arts Centre and continue down Swanston Street and up Collins Street where it will conclude at the Treasury Gardens.

The popular Lord Mayor of Melbourne, John So said the event would also give the athletes the chance to meet and thank the spectators who have been cheering them on to their victories.
