Track cyclists such as Katie Mactier have contributed heavily to Australia's tally thus far.
With just five days of competition gone, Australia are well on track to achieve their ambitious Games target of 208 medals with 88 gold.
Several months prior to the commencement of Melbourne’s Games, Australian Commonwealth Games Association CEO Perry Crosswhite stood fast on his prediction, and it would seem that his target of 208 medals in total is now well within reach.
At the end of competition on day five Australia’s tally was 112 in total, of which 42 were gold, with Games events less than half completed.
