17 Mar 06 10:30

The Melbourne 2006 Opening Ceremony soundtrack has sold more than 35,000 copies in just two days.

The official soundtrack to the Games Opening Ceremony has achieved gold status in record sales in Australia just two days after the MCG spectacular wowed millions of people worldwide.

The album features the official music from the Opening Ceremony and includes moving pieces from the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra plus performances by Delta Goodrem, David Page, The Church and The Cat Empire.

Delta, Brian McFadden and Guy Chambers wrote Together We Are One especially for the event, and this is the only album where this track will be available.

Gold sales status in Australia amounts to more than 35,000 copies of the album sold.
