Warming up for the Games
Victorians have taken to the streets, the parks and the stadiums in the name of Warming up for the Games.
The Warming up for the Games initiative encourages Victorians to try something new and experience how good being active and involved can feel. It was launched on Sunday 20 November 2005 in a state-wide celebration of sport, recreation and community involvement as part of an active countdown to the Melbourne 2006 Commonwealth Games.
No matter who you are, Warming up for the Games has an activity for you. There are plenty of free activities occurring across Victoria - from lawn bowls to Tai Chi, walking, cycling, swimming, as well as music, entertainment and food reflecting local communities and other nations of the Commonwealth.
For more information, visit the Office of the Commonwealth Games Coordination.
To find out how you can get involved and active in your local area, visit Go For Your Life.
