Anti-Doping Information and Resources

The Commonwealth Games Federation (CGF) together with the Melbourne 2006 Corporation (M2006) is committed to delivering a comprehensive anti-doping program for the Melbourne 2006 Commonwealth Games.

The CGF, through the services of the Australian Sports Drug Agency (ASDA) will conduct doping control from the opening day of the Commonwealth Games Village and will manage any potential anti-doping rule violations arising from the Games period until their conclusion.

Anti-Doping Rules

The anti-doping rules for the Games are detailed in the CGF Anti-Doping Standard for the Melbourne 2006 Commonwealth Games (ADS).

Education and Communication

A key component of the CGF Anti-Doping Program is the Melbourne 2006 Anti-Doping Education and Communication Program. Commonwealth Games Associations (CGAs) have been provided a range of materials including the following:

An Anti-Doping PowerPoint Presentation
A presentation has been made available targeting information for athletes and team officials.

Athlete Anti-Doping Interview Program
CGA’s have been invited to participate in a ground breaking education initiative, the Athlete Anti-Doping Interview Program. The program aims to support athletes to meet their anti-doping responsibilities including the checking of medications and other substances.
