Rudyard Kipling said there's nothing in the world like a military band to raise the spirits, and he was right! Festival Melbourne2006 will be flexing some major military muscle with this sparkling concert by the massed Australian Defence Force Tri-Service Band. Over 100 musicians in full dress uniform will take the stage of the Sidney Myer Music Bowl to belt out a rousing cavalcade of popular favourites, culminating in a splendid rendition of Tchaikovsky's magnificent 1812 Overture - complete with real cannons, of course! When the Australian Army, Airforce and Navy Bands join ranks to perform together as one, it's a rare triple treat - anyone who misses this will definitely be brassed off!

This is a licensed event for all ages - a range of alcoholic drinks is available for sale inside the venue. Please note that licensing laws do not allow any alcohol to be brought into the Sidney Myer Music Bowl.

Conditions of Entry: No alcohol may be brought into the Sidney Myer Music Bowl. Breakable glass containers, elevated seating, hard-sided hampers, coolers and eskies, weapons and dangerous items, domestic animals and items which could impede other people's enjoyment are also not allowed. Venue staff have the right to conduct security inspections, to require items to be cloaked for collection after the event, and to refuse or revoke entry.
