Saltwater Band

Saltwater BandFrom Australia

A new wave in Australian contemporary music

Hailing from remote Elcho Island in North East Arnhem Land, Saltwater's distinctly ska-influenced songs melodiously blend ancient Aboriginal and contemporary sounds to reflect their ties to the land and sea. With their harmonies and powerful songs, Saltwater is a new wave in contemporary music representing a uniquely Australian world music style called Indigenous Roots Music. From small bush concerts to Corroboree 2000; from Broome's Stompen Ground to opening the Darwin Festival; no stage holds any fear for this polished and brilliant band.
