Musafir Gypsies

Musafir GypsiesFrom India

'…inexhaustible energy characterises this group of singers, dancers, acrobats from this North-West Indian state... an astonishing spectacle' USA Today

From Rajasthan, desert land of gypsies, snake charmers and wandering musicians, burst the fabulous Musafir Gypsies, a madly eclectic troupe of performing artists whose energy and talents seem limitless. Fakirs and fire-eaters swallow sabres and dance on nails with wooden wheels balancing on the top of their heads, while world-class musicians dish out wild and elaborate Rajasthani rhythms. Drawing from a riveting musical and visual potpourri of Gypsy, Hindu and Muslim cultures, this travelling band of Indian troubadours spin music, dance and acrobatics into a fantastically entertaining musical spectacle.
