Golden Pride Children's Choir
From Tanzania
When you dare to dream, the world is truly your stage...
From small African village choir to headline act in London.
The forty-two children of the Golden Pride Children's Choir will make your heart soar with their home-grown songs about their environment, experiences, hopes for the future and their joy of being Tanzanian. Discovered by an Australian mining engineer in an impoverished remote village in Tanzania, these local primary school children had no vocal training, yet possessed the voices of angels. With his assistance, and their own resilience, faith and determination to rise above the brutal beauty of their surroundings, the Golden Pride Children's Choir was formed, and went on to capture the attention of Peter Gabriel and the hearts of 20,000 Womad festival-goers in the UK. Uplifting and truly unforgettable.
