Evelyn Glennie
From Scotland
"Virtuosos don't come with more lavish gifts than Glennie's, from her impeccable sense of rhythm and an ability to convey the score's underlying architecture to a performance style that finds balance between high energy and distracting frenzy." Chicago Sun-Times
Evelyn Glennie has dazzled audiences around the globe with her superb technical abilities, extraordinary visual flair and astonishing musicality. This Grammy-winning pioneer of solo percussion has performed with the finest orchestras and artists across the world. From Brazilian samba groups, Japanese kodo drummers and Indonesian gamelan orchestras to Icelandic rock singer, Björk, Evelyn has redefined the role of a solo percussionist. Awarded an OBE in 1983, Evelyn Glennie is an amazing artist who creates live shows of such vitality that they almost constitute a new type of performance. A solo recital not to be missed.
