Evelyn Glennie with the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra
From Scotland
"Her musicianship is extraordinary. One has to pause in sheer wonder at what she has accomplished. She is quite simply a phenomenon of a performer." New York Times
Scotland's Evelyn Glennie has stunned audiences around the globe with her superb technical abilities, extraordinary visual flair and her astonishing musicality. And now, for one magnificent concert only, she will show why she is one of the world’s most acclaimed solo percussionists when she performs at the Sidney Myer Music Bowl with the full might of the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra behind her. Drawing on a staggering array of percussive instruments, Evelyn and the Melbourne Symphony will perform a dazzlingly eclectic program including Copland’s Fanfare for the Common Man, Bizet’s Carmen Suite No. 2, and Vivaldi’s Piccolo Concerto. This is a rare opportunity to see one of the world stars of percussion in full, glorious, unfettered flight, with our very own Melbourne Symphony Orchestra.
