Common Goods: Cultures Meet Through Craft
Common Goods: Cultures Meet Through Craft
is a Craft Victoria exhibition that features work made in Victoria specifically for the Commonwealth Games by artists from South Africa, Malta, Mauritius, Maldives, Sri Lanka, India, Samoa and New Zealand. While in residencies during February, the artists will use their traditional skills to produce work from materials at hand in conversation with local artists and community.
Common Goods
encourages dialogue between cultures and explores different concepts of humanness. The exhibition will also contain an indigenous showcase of baskets from South-Eastern Australia.
