Big Top Hop
From Australia
World Premiere
Wicked dancing vs X-treme circus
Beats, breaks and rap hit the Festival Big Top on a tidal wave of homegrown hip hop talent in
Big Top Hop
, a brand new show created with the help of local street artists especially for the Commonwealth Games. Hip hop, street rap, breakdance and circus collide when crews from all over Melbourne make the Big Top their home turf, strutting their moves alongside circus performers Stephen Williams and Avan Whaite and hip hop dancers Nikki Ashby and Demilition B Girl. A wicked resident band headed by Tamil Rogeon of True Live will deliver original beats, with the deadly vibes of Brisbane rap duo MIZ adding to the general groove. With ringmaster Elf Transporter in control at the microphone,
Big Top Hop
is a stand-up, knock-down, no-holds-barred three-ring hip hop free-for-all. Suitable for children 10 years and above.
Produced in association with Footscray Community Arts Centre and featuring crews from Jungle City (Footscray), D Force (Noble Park) and the A.R.A.B. Project (Broadmeadows, Hillcrest, Box Forest & Lakeside Secondary Colleges). Director: Rebecca Hilton
