Art4Athletes Exhibition

Art4Athletes ExhibitionIn 2005, students from across Australia were invited to submit an artwork as a gift to an athlete or official living in the Athletes' Village. Nearly 450 schools from across Australia registered for the program and over 5,000 artworks were submitted, exploring one of three themes: Welcome to Australia! using iconic Australian images; Welcome to My Home!, focusing on an individual's community and family; or Welcome to the Melbourne 2006 Commonwealth Games! Every athlete and official will receive their gift on arrival at the Athletes' Village. This exhibition profiles over 160 of these artworks, submitted by students ranging in age from 5 years to 18 years old, including Primary, Secondary and Special school students.
