Situated in Carlton Gardens next to the historic Royal Exhibition Building, Melbourne Museum is an easy walk from Parliament train station.
During the Festival, the Museum will be a hive of Festival activity, with a Commonwealth Games Live Sites in the Plaza screening live sporting events and highlights on the big screen, and three Festival Melbourne2006 exhibitions presented in the Museum itself. The Melbourne Museum Plaza also plays host to a range of specially created food and wine events, including
Victorian Producers’ Market, which celebrates the best of Victoria’s seasonal bounty and the Culinary Pro Am of the Commonwealth, an exciting competition pitting Melbourne’s top chefs against each other. And don’t miss Hedge-mony on March 26 – a silent mass of hedges made up of over 400 performers who converge to create a vast army of foliage, forming a maze for you to enter – if you dare!
